WWDC 2026
Some quick notes from watching the keynote today:
- I like that they didn’t open with an over-the-top intro video.
- Wait, did they actually show a spliff in the video?!
- I was not expecting a slider for Liquid Glass!
- Full resolution sharing in group albums is great.
- The pano shots in visionOS look cool, and being able to make your own scenes is even better.
- The trust and safety stuff is mostly irrelevant to me, but it’s awesome that they’re investing in it.
- Good call showing Mike actually using Siri to prove they have it working—and I think it was in one shot, at least for that conversation. After last year, they needed to show it “live” somehow and I know this is not “live,” but I think it’s a good equivalent, given their format.
- The black Siri UI coming out of the Dynamic Island doesn’t look great to me. I hope that changes over the beta cycle.
- The Siri AI seems like a lot of “catching up to what should already be possible.”
- I’m low-key excited about splitting the bill, even if the UI is stuck in Apple Cash.
- “Notify Me” in Safari looks cool.
- Automatically fixing passwords is awesome and I do not trust it… I’ll wait to see everyone else try it first.
- Home notifications collapsing into a single one that updates is awesome.
- AI to create shortcuts is great for everyone.
- I thought Apple might stay away from photo-realistic AI photos… I guess not.
- Interesting that they have higher requirements for certain Apple Intelligence features.
- It was so short! Dare I say, demure?
- The video at the end was fun—yay for callouts to Callsheet and Watch Duty!
And from the State of the Union:
- Free Private Cloud Compute access for smaller apps is a great move.
- Resizing apps through iPhone Mirroring is crazy cool.
- Text selection improvements are nice.
- Xcode themes are genuinely useful!
